American International School Conferences

The Collaborative for Innovative Education was created in 2017. This included Cary Academy, Nueva School, Singapore American School, Frankfurt International School, the American International School of Johannesburg, and the American School of Bombay. Our schools rotated a group of key leaders to each school and we conferenced on the topic of flexible learning. I attended and presented on 3D design and printing in Johannesburg and attended the conference in Frankfurt.

I moved the company from DOS to Windows and taught employees Microsoft products. The company moved to a new enterprise software system that I taught to all employees. I worked with Access, SQL Sever and HTML and helped with helpdesk support.

I have taught Math 6, Transitional Math 6 (Pre-Algebra), Transitional Math 7, Transitional Math 8, and Algebra throughout the years at Cary Academy. My current focus is on Math 7 and Transitional Math 7. I created an e-textbook for Transitional Math 7. During 2005-2006 I was the 6th Grade Team Leader. Since 2012 I have been an Instructional Technology Facilitator and the Middle School Instructional Technology Chair since 2016. I worked closely with the Diversity and Inclusion department from 2013-2016. I have presented at national and local conferences on the topics of math, educational technology, and diversity.

Attended the weeklong NAIS Diversity Leadership Intstitute

Attended and presented (2015) at the NAIS People of Color Conference 2013-2016

Worked with the Triangle Diversity Alliance, a group of local independent schools, to create a TDA conference that rotates through our schools. 2013-2014

Helped plan and roll out faculty training on diversity and inclusion

Co-chaired the MIddle School African-American Affinity group as an ally

Created and co-chaired the Middle School UnIQUE Affinity group exploring core identifiers

Facilitated gender discussions with middle school students during Ubuntu celebration
